Yamhill County and the Chehalem Valley have some of the finest vineyards and offer some of the best wines available today. Various vineyards are open daily for wine tasting and tours. You can contact us for a brochure or write to "Yamhill County Wineries, PO Box 25162, Portland, Oregon 97298". For information about winery events and festivals check the calendar at www.WinesNW.com.

There are Bed and Breakfast stays and abundant antique shops to visit located within a short driving distance from Oakhurst. For a "Bed and Breakfast Destination Guide" call the Oregon Bed & Breakfast Guild at 1-800-944-6196, or write to them at PO Box 3187, Ashland, Oregon 97520.

A visit to Oakhurst, which is located in Newberg, gives you the feel of comfortable quality. Abundant wildlife, including a resident blue heron, many species of waterfowl and birds, beaver and deer, adorn the landscape highlighted by a 34,000 square foot horse barn and eclectic home.

Oakhurst Thoroughbreds is located about 45 minutes southwest of Portland. It is home to the historical Ewing Young Oak Tree, grave site for the pioneer Ewing Young who founded and settled in this valley over 150 years ago. Visitors come to see the tree each year and local libraries have literature telling about the pioneer and his trapping and business ventures in the southwest, and then his cattle drive and travel with horses to the northwest. Owned by the Historical Tree Society of Oregon, the Ewing Young Oak Tree holds significant historical interest and is one of the most beautiful trees listed in their guide to historical trees today.

Contact us today to visit our farm and tour our beautiful valley, or request a brochure to learn more about Ewing Young.
